Summary

Perdue Farms is seeking a Photography Studio Coordinator for internal photography studio within the Food/CPG industry. This person will play a pivotal role in shaping the dual facets of our studio: the artistic, where fine art photography flourishes, and the commercial, where our creative services meet client needs. This role is ideal for someone who is as passionate about the actual photography as they are about the organizational aspects of running a studio. This studio is not just a traditional commercial photography space; it's a hub of artistic expression and innovation. As a relatively new studio, we explore the realms of both commercial photography and video production, constantly blurring the lines between art and visual storytelling. Our goal is to use the space to grow our own internal creative practices while also generating revenue by making it available to our internal clients. This position offers extensive opportunities for growth in both the realms of studio management and commercial photography, providing a rich and diverse environment for professional development.

  • Candidates must have photography studio work experience/ have worked at a photography studio in the past - to be considered for this position.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist photographer as necessary with lighting setup and breakdown

  • Preparing products prior to photoshoots, per the photographer’s instructions

  • Arranging and styling products according to the photo style guide

  • Preparing lifestyle shoot setups

  • Assistance during photo shoots, including camera placement, lighting setup, prep, styling,

  • and more

  • Assisting with maintenance of photography and photo studio equipment (i.e. locking up equipment for security), and, organizing and scheduling product photo shoots

  • Manage studio inventory (photo equipment, office equipment, etc.) as well as track and organize budget and spending for pre-pro

  • Occasional lifting and organizing heavy and bulky set pieces

  • Assist with various tasks related to studio operations and production

  • Coordinating with photographer on photoshoots and keeping in touch and making sure all individuals involved are informed in real time

  • Reaching out to internal clients and team members, if necessary

  • Potentially manage rented equipment for the studio, including: keeping track rented hours, when equipment is due back and payments

  • Periodic travel is required depending on the need of the shoot

Experience Requirements

College degree or equivalent is required plus 2-5 years of experience working in a photography studio. Our ideal candidate will have/be:

  • A portfolio, preferably a photography portfolio

  • Knowledge of a studio and tabletop photography is preferred

  • Be adaptable to a dynamic creative environment

  • Comfortable working in a Mac based studio

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Knowledge of color theory, photography techniques and lighting

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-based environment
