Summary:

The Senior Photographer/Videographer will lead all photography and video efforts for the internal Perdue studio. This will span several project types, including packaging, lifestyle, farms, farmers, recipes and cooking video to be used in selling, marketing (print and digital), as well as social media. This role will also mentor other positions within the studio, ex. other photographers, food stylists and the studio coordinator. Additional responsibilities may include, but are not limited too, food styling, photo and video editing, lighting setup, recipe creation, and food prep.

Must have photography studio work experience/ have worked at a photography studio in the past to be considered.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Execute and/or direct all still and video/photography for the internal creative agency

  • Collaborate closely with creative director and project stakeholders to capture authentic lifestyle and product photography that meets the brief.

  • Expert in Adobe Premier and Photoshop for editing, retouching images as needed (Cropping, Exposure, Background Removal, Color-Correction/Conversion, etc.) as well as editing video for social channels, including quick cuts, audio and more

  • Storyboard video recipe/cooking shoots

  • Arranging and styling products according to the brand style guide

  • Direct the setup of product props, as required

  • Upload, organize, and tag photo assets to maintain and build a digital library for easy access and retrieval.

  • Direct coordinator in regard to maintenance of photography and photo studio equipment, and, organize and schedule photo shoots and due dates.

  • Manage studio coordinator, as well as track and organize budget and spending for pre-pro

  • Occasional lifting of heavy and bulky set pieces

  • Oversee, review and coach direct reports

  • Comfortable meeting with internal clients and team members to determine and plan shoots

  • Periodic travel is required depending on the need of the shoot

Education and Experience Requirements:

College degree or equivalent is required plus 7 years of experience working in or leading a photography studio. Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A portfolio, preferably a photography portfolio

  • Knowledge of a studio and tabletop photography is preferred

  • Be adaptable to a dynamic creative environment

  • Comfortable working in a Mac based environment

  • Video and photo editing skills are a must

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Knowledge of color theory, photography techniques and lighting

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-based environment

  • Food styling is a plus
