Perdue AgriBusiness is seeking a motivated Commercial Business Manager for our Bainbridge, PA facility.

This position will be responsible for for the PA business group – buying/securing contracts with farmers/producers for grain and to grow the customer base for soy meal produced at Bainbridge. This position will be responsible for the profit/loss for the commercial side of the business with direct accountable with operations cost efficiency and effectiveness.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Merchandise the company’s product portfolio of soybeans and soy meal to customers. Will hold primary responsibility to manage the PA business group’s trading book, but in addition will lead third party trading efforts.

  • Support the company’s origination efforts in PA.

  • Support PAB’s business development efforts by seeking, establishing and maintaining customer/supplier relationships, visiting customers/suppliers and attending domestic industry conferences.

  • Build and maintain US Supply and Demand balance sheets and take a lead on market intelligence/analytics/price forecasting models for soy meal. Communicate the same to the wider PAB team.

  • Participate in and contribute to the formulation and implementation of the Grain and Oilseed segments and PA crush/soy strategic planning process.

  • Coach and train entry level/early stage commercial associates.

Minimum Education

  • BS degree (Agriculture, Business or Management)

Experience Requirements

  • 20+ years of relevant experience in the grain and oilseed industry

  • Strong experience in US physical grain and oilseed markets

  • Knowledge of domestic grain/oilseed trade rules such as NGFA, NAEGA, FOSFA and GAFTA

  • Be proactive and self-managed

  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills in a team-oriented environment.

  • Experience working with PA farming/producer community a plus

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Normal climate-controlled office environment. Able to communicate on the telephone and use standard office equipment. Able to move freely throughout the facility. Able to move freely throughout the AgriBusiness facilities to include climbing vertical heights (0 - 150'), exposure to extreme temperatures (0-100 Degrees Fahrenheit), humidity, (0 - 100%), noise (50db to 100db) and chemicals (MSDS sheets available). Required to travel to remote AgriBusiness facilities and international customer locations.
