Summary
Perdue AgriBusiness has an opening for an Environmental Tech at our Bainbridge, PA facility.
This position will be responsible for coordinating the day to day requirements necessary to ensure compliance for all local, state, and federal environmental laws. Performs environmental testing, record keeping and reporting as required. Provides technical support on environmental issues to facility and operational managers and supervisors. Provides technical and operational production support necessary for compliance with applicable permits and regulations.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Conduct environmental compliance testing
Ensure day-to-day production activities are conducted in accordance with environmental requirements established by permits and local, state and federal laws and regulations
Develop the skills necessary to ensure compliance with: waste water operation, air quality compliance, land application programs, hazardous/universal waste, recycling, solid waste, potable water and oil handling programs for the designated plant operations
Maintain environmental records to ensure compliance with permit requirements, laws and regulations
Conduct environmental audits to ensure compliance with permit requirements, laws and regulations
Promote on-site and community involved Environmental Sustainability efforts
Adhere to all safety requirements including PPE, preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, lockout tagout (LOTO) procedure, and process safety management related matters
Minimum Education/Experience
AA Degree (Environmental Science or Biological Sciences)
3-5 years work experience in the related field may be substituted for an AA Degree
Understanding of local, state and federal environmental laws and regulations
Understanding of standard software applications
Strong communication, math, organizational and analytical skills. Valid Driver's license
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
Able to move freely throughout AgriBusiness facilities to include climbing vertical heights (0 - 150'), carrying tools and equipment (0-50 pounds), exposure to extreme temperatures (0-100 Degrees Fahrenheit), humidity, (0 - 100%), noise (50db to 100db) and chemicals (SDS sheets available). Able to communicate on the telephone and use standard office equipment.
