Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for onboarding all new associates according to company policy

  • Lead on farm training events for all associates

  • Ensure all farm production records are current and accurate

  • Serve as the backup to the Farm Manager for all Kronos related activities includes but not limited to schedules, time punches, disciplinary actions, approvals, etc.

  • Responsible for the farm supplies order and on farm inventory of products

  • Assist in production related tasks as need; including but not limited to: weaning, pregnancy checking, vaccinating, and serving as a backup for other department managers

  • Keep, communicate, and report accurate records on a daily basis

  • Notify and discuss openly with management any problems, concerns, or questions

  • Recognize and manage unique situations that require special attention or treatment

  • Maintain a clean/ orderly appearance around the office/ farm

  • Conserve farm resources such as supplies, equipment, and time

  • Anticipate and prevent problems whenever possible rather than allowing problems to develop and progress and then reacting to them

  • Communicate openly and freely with others

  • Any other duties as assigned, requested, or directed by management/supervisor

Education/Requirements

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent

  • B.S. degree in Animal Science or related field, OR minimum of one-year experience in straw-bedded pork production system, OR minimum of two years’ experience in traditional pork production.

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

  • Ability to lead by example and manage a team of 2-5 people

  • Ability to problem solve, be a critical thinker, goal oriented, and a team player
