Summary
Perdue AgriBusiness is seeking a International Maritime Logistics Coordinato r in Chesapeake, VA. This position will be responsible for providing administrative, clerical, and data entry support for Agribusiness operations with emphasize and responsibility for container movements and reconciliation of commodity movements.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Working with logistics and merchandisers, plan weekly schedules, secure needed dray, develop daily schedule, generate load orders for efficient bookings.
Review, accrue, match, and approve payment of demurrage, wait or detention time invoices. Set up accruals for these expenses as needed as needed.
Work with third party container loaders, frt. forwarders, and the container group to distribute load orders, enter load orders. With expected accruals, into Ag Tech, interface loaders load summaries into Ag Tech, forward weights, and grades documents to Frt. Forwarders. Coordinate and report forward results of any testing required.
Provide expert customer service working with others to set up new vendors in Maximo, customers in Ag Tech, and direct deposits
Order supplies as needed for both facilities and track expenses.
Provide assistance to merchandising team as needed including weekly facility audits and perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Coordinate with VDACS and Independent Labs for the testing and surveillance of all container loading. Ship samples to for appropriate testing per contract specifications per booking in a timely matter.
Train and provide backup assistance to grain accounting functions in Grain Smart. Unloading rail, barge inbound unloads, and applying truck deliveries to their appropriate contracts.
Serve as first point of contact for farmers, drivers, and other associates.
Minimum Education
High School Graduate or GED required
BS/BA Supply Chain, Logistics and Maritime Operations Preferred.
2-3 years container logistics, operations, and scheduling
Experience Requirements
2-3 years with Supply Chain Logistics and Maritime Operations
Understanding of systems and software applications
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong math and analytical skills
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.
May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment.
When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
