Summary
Perdue AgriBusiness, LLC has an immediate opening for an experienced Union Soy Crew Lead at our facility on Barnes Road in Chesapeake, Virginia .
To ensure associates are complying with safety, food safety, and quality policies and procedures while providing oversight to the processing operations in order to meet customer demand for our products.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Ensure working conditions for all associates are in compliance with the safety and environmental guidelines established by local, state, and federal agencies as well as company policies
Ensure adherence to food safety and quality assurance procedures by crew members
Assist the facility manager in coordinating and directing the daily activities of crews and teams for Soy Crushing functions
Train, develop, and follow up to ensure team members are able to perform required operational tasks
Cover positions when, and wherever needed, to avoid any undue hardship on other associates
Maintain daily records and logs for safety, quality, and productivity. Send reports to the facility manager as directed and communicate results to associates.
Perform job within established CGMP's
Perform other tasks as assigned
Minimum Education
High School or GED, Further education is preferred.
Experience Requirements
2-3 years of Soy Crushing Operation Experience
Knowledge of manufacturing technologies
Knowledge of safety programs and requirements
Knowledge of environmental programs and requirements
Knowledge of food safety programs and requirements
Understanding of standard software applications
Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills
Basic leadership skills
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
Able to move freely throughout the Agribusiness facilities
Climbing vertical heights (0 -150')
Carrying tools and equipment (0-50 lbs.)
Exposure temperatures (0-100) degrees Fahrenheit
Humidity (0-100%), noise (50db to 100db)
Chemicals (MSDS sheets available)
Must be able to wear protective equipment to include self-contained breathing apparatus, hard hat, safety glasses, protective footwear and other PPE as required.
