Summary

The Director of Operations will manage Cromwell's processing complex so as to maximize profits, maintain consistent product quality and meet customer needs. Additionally, they will be responsible for directing the management teams to select, develop and motivate associates as well as assuring quality staffing at all levels of management while adhering to safety and ergonomic goals and objectives.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes business plans for areas of accountability.

  • Develops a strong, progressive management team to ensure growth of the business unit.

  • Provides guidance to the management team in developing solutions and budgets for improving processes, maintaining facilities and innovative problem solving.

  • Ensures compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements and promote a community image of the Company as the preferred place to work.

  • Ensures that product quality, service and reliability meets or exceeds our customers' expectations.

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelors degree in Business, Ag-business or related discipline, and 7+ years of related work experience.

The ideal candidate must have:

  • Knowledge of budget development and administration, report analysis, USDA and employment law.

  • Broad integrated knowledge of live production and plant operations.

  • Ability to travel to other facilities and Corporate HQ for meetings.

Poultry husbandry knowledge and strong mechanical aptitude a plus.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

  1. Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.

  2. When in a plant environment:

  3. Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.

  4. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.

  5. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db. to 110 db.

  6. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
