Description/Job Summary

Night Shift Chiller Operator (Rehang)

The purpose is to use a battery operator jack to move tanks full of chicken from one designated area to another. According to production needs. Must follow rotation schedule as described by management


#1 Using powered jack to transfer tanks of product within the department and to the cooler .

#2 To make visual water meter checks and product temperature checks using thermometer gauge put into bird for 4 chillers every hour and documenting each check on a log form.

#3 To make visual water temperatures checks on a temperature gauge every hour by documenting each check on a long form.

#4 To lift 4-15 lbs. Birds from a mover conveyor at a height of 2” from the cut stand. Must pull 5 birds from the line for temperature checks using a thermometer, the temperature must range between 34-38 F every hour and documented on the log.

#5 Must notify management if temperature rises above 38 F and maintain chiller charts for daily operations and record keeping purposes.

#6 Prepare department for general operation by 8:00 a.m. to include but not limited to setting up tanks with ice, using a shovel weighing 15-20 lbs. Spray belts with chlorine. Transfer full tanks of product from cooler to dept.

Required Skills

Must be able to read and write in English.Good knowledge of mechanical equipment and inventory parts. Basic computer and keyboard skills.

Required Qualifications

Qualifying Candidates must be in their current position for a minimum of 12 months, no more than 2 occurrences, and no active write ups.


Must be able to working temperature ranging form 50-90 Fahrenheit. Occasional exposure to seasonal weather condition: bending twisting, climbing. Ability to travel through supply room area: must wear proper personal proper personal protective equipment.

Must be able to climb 4’ platform ladder a minimum 10 times a day.
