To remove loaded trays of chicks from stacks, harvest the trays (putting the chicks on a conveyor), empty reside from the trays and feed the empty trays into the tray washer while keeping flocks separated. To work in positions within the hatchery as scheduled by management.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
While keeping flocks properly separated, push loaded stacks of chicks weighting 450 lbs. a distance of up to 100'.
Using proper lifting techniques, unstack trays of chicks weighting up to 30 lbs. onto conveyor. This position requires bending and reaching from 5'' from the floor to 6' in height.
Using both hands, remove chicks from the trays and place them onto the conveyor. Invert the tray to remove residue and place on the conveyor that feeds the tray washer.
Clean up after harvesting has been completed using water hoses, detergents and disinfections. Some hard scrubbing is required.
Occasionally perform other hatchery labor jobs as events of absenteeism necessitate.
Reading and writing skills preferred.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
Exposed to temperatures ranging from 60 to 105 degrees Fahrenheit and humidity levels up to 100%.
Exposed to chemicals, drugs and vaccines to be covered in MSDS training and hazardous communications.
Use personal protective equipment as required.
Able to stand in one position for up to 2 1/5 hours.
Ability to lift 30 lbs. from heights of 5'' to 6' from the floor and push 450 lbs. stacks a distance of 100'.
Must be able to work in a wet, damp, dusty (chick down) environment.
