Summary
The purpose of a Maintenance Mechanic A is to maintain, diagnose, repair, rebuild, adjust, perform preventative maintenance, and install equipment within and around the facilities so as to keep the production operational and have zero loss of production chargeable to maintenance.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Knowledgeable of and able to perform all the tasks required for a Maintenance Mechanic
Provide own personal hand tools needed to safely perform the job and have a storage box to store
Provide a means of notification/communication during non-working hours for emergencies. Respond to emergency calls within thirty (30) minutes
Ensure shop and surrounding areas are kept clean by the removal of all debris in work areas, workbenches, break rooms, all floors and the same are free of liquids, oils and dirt.
Ensure a safe working environment by elimination of unsafe act/s or condition/s.
Minimum Education
High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
Experience Requirements
7+ years of experience
Reading, writing, communication skills, math, and analytical skills are required.
Must possess knowledge of hydraulic systems, conveyor systems and an aptitude for industrial machinery.
Must have all personal tools at all times and be able to use and operate hand tools and industrial shop equipment.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
Position is active. On the plant floor activities such as troubleshooting and re-design of existing systems are routine.
May need to move equipment occasionally.
May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
Position requires an associate to have the ability to move throughout the complex and all facilities. .
When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
