Summary
The Processing Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of production associates to achieve required production and quality standards in a safe, efficient, and effective manner and for promoting and maintaining positive working relationships within the production group.
The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $95,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Train, direct, and develop subordinates to meet operating, safety, and quality requirements within the department and/or area.
Supervise production staff to ensure product quality and integrity and ensure all finished product meets or exceeds customer requirements.
Create and maintain an environment that is conducive to retaining associates.
Consistently administer Company policies and procedures.
Support and promote the Company's annual People, Products, Profitability, and Planet goals through effective and efficient planning, communication, coaching, training, and overall direction of the workforce.
Create and implement, with management approval, innovative ideas, and methods to improve production efficiencies, CSI, QI, and Safety scorecard.
Maintain good employee relations and adherence to labor contract provision, take proper and judicious disciplinary measures when required, assist supervisors in handling first step corrective actions, and conduct second step meetings with Human Resources.

Minimum Education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Poultry Science, Animal Science, Agriculture, or related discipline.
Experience Requirements
3 - 5 years of experience in supervising others and maintaining efficient and productive work groups.
Experience leading, guiding, and coaching associates.
Experience with various industry accepted procedures including HACCP, SPC, etc., and plant efficiency as it related to yield, line speeds, and automatic process equipment.
Ability to communicate effectively with employees and all levels of management.
Excellent planning, organization, and prioritization skills.
Ability to solve problems in a practical and methodical way while preserving sense of urgency.
Able to provide strong customer orientation.
Skilled in developing, communicating, and maintaining positive interpersonal relationships with and among employees.
Solid computer skills to include data entry, Excel, and Word.
Must be able to travel to other facilities and plants for meetings and Company business.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
When in a plant environment:
Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
