Summary

Clean, lube, inspect, set up, change over, adjust, and perform PMs on higher-complexity equipment and/or multiple machines. First line of defense with troubleshooting. Train other Process Techs. Participate in rebuilds, modifications, and installation of new equipment. Perform specified preventive maintenance as required; lubricating, cleaning and measurements. Perform any minor repairs or part replacements requiring items such as consumable parts found during PM task or production runs. Report equipment issues or problems found during production runs or PM task to management. Create Service Request for maintenance repairs. Assist in CI projects. Maintain a safe work area including Lockout-Tagout procedures, forklift/power jack operation.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Possess basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems throughout the plant. Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions. General use of hand and power tools, lubricating equipment. Takes responsibility over setup of assigned equipment. Works independently. Makes minor repairs to equipment. Maintains cleanliness of work area. Performs PMs as assigned by maintenance leadership.

Minimum Education

High School diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience Requirements

0-1 Years; ability to read and must have excellent analytical skills

Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, use of hand tools and power tools, attention to detail, Ability to read and write English, follow instructions.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Ability to work for 8 hours in a stationary position or travel on a wet, moist, dry, greasy, floors which may include metal or plastic grating surfaces with up to 4 hours in a single interval. Ability to work from various types of ladders. Exposure to and work in temperatures of less than -40 degrees and 75 degrees with ambient humidity, also will require from time to time working outside, on roof, during all seasons of the year and temperatures associated with the seasons. Noise of 110 db, and light intensity range of 50 to 100 foot candles. Bending, twisting, lifting, reaching, sitting, and grasping varies in repetitions, distance, degrees, angle, weight, heights, longest interval of time, objects grasped, and body positions depending upon the maintenance task required. Exposure to chlorinated water ( 50 ppm, Ammonia vapors ) 5 ppm, dry ice, caustic detergents, lubricating oils, hydraulic oils, and other chemicals found in a poultry processing plant. Must use and / or wear protective and safety equipment required for the job. Safety Exposure Opportunities: Ammonia, CO2, Glycol, Nitrogen, high and low temperature extremes, food allergens, chemical hazards.
