Summary
Assists Maintenance Manager in the management of all maintenance activities a facility. Provides leadership, consultation and guidance regarding maintenance expenditure projects, cost efficiencies, process development, modification and facility maintenance. Leads the Maintenance planning department and act as a liaison between Maintenance and all other plant departments.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Develops and deploys maintenance and planning improvement programs and projects that improve the plant and equipment performance.
Promotes safety and demands it from the Maintenance organization.
Assists the Maintenance Manager with Maintenance staffing to include hiring, training and developing the staff to meet the needs of the department.
Ensures preventative and predictive maintenance is completed and records are maintained on all assets.
Directly manages the Maintenance Planning department and the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Develops long-range strategic plans to ensure maintenance requirements are accomplished.
Acts as the Maintenance Manager's primary backup.
Minimum Education
BS degree in Engineering or related discipline or technical education equivalent
Experience Requirements
5 plus years of direct experience.
Must have an understanding of maintenance management systems and processes, preventative and predictive maintenance, manufacturing technologies and standard software applications.
Requires strong communication, math, organizational and analytical skills.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
- Position is active. On the plant floor activities such as troubleshooting and re-design of existing systems are routine. 2. May need to move equipment occasionally. 3. May need to access files, supplies and equipment. 4. Position requires an associate to have the ability to move throughout the complex and all facilities. .5. When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
