Summary
Join our team as a Shipping/Receiving associate! We’re looking for dedicated individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are committed to upholding the highest standards of quality and safety. As a Shipping/Receiving associate, you’ll play a crucial role in the accurate and timely processing of incoming and outgoing shipments. This position requires working with raw and/or cooked packaged products. Typical assignments may include Stagers, Loaders, Turret Truck Operators, Receivers, Receiving Lift Operators and Jockeys.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against packing lists and purchase orders.
Unload and load trucks, ensuring products are handled safely and efficiently.
Ability to accurately document and track inventory.
Prepare and package outgoing shipments, ensuring all items are securely packed and labeled correctly.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and sanitation standards.
Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation as needed.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to resolve any issues or discrepancies.
Minimum Education
High School or equivalent not required but beneficial.
Experience Requirements
At least 1 year of continuous work experience in shipping/receiving or warehouse operations.
Previous experience in operation of forklifts and other powered industrial equipment.
Ability to pass forklift/pallet jack certification courses offered by Perdue
Experience Preferred
2+ years’ experience in a distribution warehouse preferred.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
When in a plant environment:
Ability to tolerate exposure to wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
Ability to stand for an extended period and perform repetitive tasks.
Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs by reaching, bending, and pushing boxes.
Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and ear protection as required.
May work in an environment with varying temperatures between 25 degrees and 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
May handle product varying in temperatures between 25 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm.
