Perdue offers students an opportunity for a career path within Data Management through a CO-OP program. Students who are selected to join the organization’s CO-OP program will be involved in project work focused on Analytics, Data Preparation, and Governance in support of new and existing IT project and programs with in the information Technology department. We encourage students to bring their expertise and passion for knowledge to help us in developing quality data and analytics to help advance Perdue’s standing in the marketplace.

This is a full time Co-Op opportunity based in our Corporate Headquarters Office.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

This is an opportunity for students to gain valuable experience in one of our key Data management areas including:

  • Data Visualization and Story Telling

  • Analytics and Reporting

  • Data Preparation

  • ELT Development

  • MetaData Management

  • Data Governance

The student will be integrated into our business with identified objectives for specific project(s) and will be partnered with a mentor to help with professional growth. This program is a full-time, 5-6 month opportunity for Undergraduate or Masters students in Information Technology. The program will run from July to December 2021. Housing assistance is provided for those who qualify.

Minimum Education

  • Pursuing a Masters degree at an accredited university in a relevant field of study

  • Must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA or higher; 3.25 GPA or higher is highly preferred

Experience Requirements

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have strong communication skills including written and verbal

  • Must be able to work independently or in teams

  • Some positions may require travel to other facilities

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings. May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. May need to access files, supplies and equipment.

When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.

May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db. to 110 db.

May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.

Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company. May need to climb ladders.
