We have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Manager in Salisbury, MD . The core responsibility is to manage the engineering and capital budget functions for Perdue AgriBusiness. The Engineering Manager will provide consultation and guidance regarding capital expenditure projects, cost efficiencies, and process development. The incumbent will lead and direct a professional engineering staff of eight associates.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the AgriBusiness Engineering staff to include hiring, training, and developing the staff to meet the needs of the department

  • Lead, promote, and create a safe working environment for all associates. Ensure compliance with all company, local, state, and federal requirements

  • Develop with the SVP of PAB Operations, the capital budget and spend to include all maintenance, regulatory, enhancement and strategic projects

  • Ensure all engineering projects efforts are in compliance with all company, local, state, and federal environmental requirements

  • Design, develop, and manage AgriBusiness capital projects to enhance efficiencies and improve performance

  • Design, develop, and manage AgriBusiness strategic capital projects to meet growth plans

  • Provide technical support and training to facility managers for project design and management, new equipment acquisition, materials acquisition, and process changes

  • Develop long-range strategic plans to ensure engineering requirements for AgriBusiness are accomplished

  • Perform other tasks as directed by supervision

Minimum Education

  • BS Degree (Engineering) or equivalent work experience

  • Professional Engineering Certification (preferred)

Experience Requirements

  • Understanding of manufacturing technologies.

  • Understanding of State and Federal safety laws and regulations.

  • Understanding of State and Federal environmental laws and regulations.

  • Understanding of standard software applications.

  • Strong communication, math, organizational, and analytical skills

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills

Experience Preferred

  • 10+ years of previous engineering experience

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Able to move freely throughout the facilities including climbing vertical heights (0 - 150'), carrying tools and equipment (0-50 pounds), exposure to extreme temperatures (0-100 Degrees Fahrenheit), humidity, (0 - 100%), noise (50db to 100db) and chemicals (MSDS sheets available). Must be able to wear protective equipment to include self-contained breathing apparatus. Required to travel to remote AgriBusiness facilities and other offsite locations. Able to operate a motor vehicle. Able to use standard office equipment and communicate on the telephone.
