The SAP HCM Tech Lead is a key role that will work on Strategic Enterprise Roadmap projects. This role will have the responsibility for providing support of all HCM configuration design and development for all functional HR and Payroll modules, but with primary focus in supporting Payroll and Time Management configuration. The role will help define and configure business processes spanning SAP HCM and other integrated systems. The role will be part of a team that is responsible for completing SAP configuration that meets the design criteria for strategic roadmap and other projects and may include overall project management level responsibility for some projects.

This position will be based full time at Corporate Headquarters in Salisbury, MD. Relocation packages are available for eligible candidates.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Participate and collaborate as part of a team in the HR Payroll IT Area in support of assigned systems (SAP HCM and others) for HR and Payroll.

  • Perform detailed analysis of user requirements, leverage delivered software changes when possible (best practices), transform requirements into functional specifications, and support the implementation of system changes that meet user requirements and achieve all project deliverables as specified.

  • Effectively work in a collaborative team environment.

  • SAP HCM experience must include solution evaluation, requirements gathering, design recommendation, testing (functional unit, string, and integration), data migration, and data analysis.

  • Perform SAP HCM configuration to meet the design criteria for strategic projects in assigned subject area that meet business requirements.

  • Provide overall project management responsibility for all assigned projects utilizing project management methodology and best practices for all project phases.

  • Provide first-line functional support and guidance to internal customers, troubleshoot business processes, and provide configuration support assigned area.

  • Coach/mentor/train junior team members, participate in knowledge transfer training activities, and conduct peer review to ensure quality deliverables as a team.

  • Work with technical development team on implementation of system programming changes.

Minimum Education and Experience

BS Degree, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent work experience. Master’s Degree is a plus.

The Ideal Candidate will have:

  • 5 Years minimum experience with SAP HCM.

  • Business process experience in SAP HCM and configuration experience required for all HCM modules (HR, OM/PA, Benefits, and Payroll)

  • Required specialty focus and expertise in Payroll – payroll processing, time quotas, custom schemas, gross payroll, wage types, deductions, tax authorities/models, BSI TUBs, off-cycle payroll, quotas, posting to accounting, and 3rd party remittance

  • Minimum of one full project lifecycle implementation of SAP ERP system with concentration in HR Payroll.

  • Experience in defining solutions, writing functional specifications, and unit testing.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills: verbal, written, and presentation.

  • Self-motivated, good time management skills, and ability to work with limited supervision to monitor and manage priorities and to report progress/status updates.

  • Experience in Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Strong focus on customer needs and good facilitation skills and good decision making skills.

Preferred Experience

Preferred Experience:

  • Working knowledge of ABAP programming.

  • Working knowledge of project management and project planning.
