This Senior Trade Marketing Manager is dedicated to driving price and mix of the company’s products, while growing the Company’s presence within all customers of Perdue Premium Poultry. Profit, brand share, competitiveness and sales growth are key accountabilities. This position will support Sales’ efforts to develop and nurture long term customer relationships necessary to support the Company’s strategic growth goals in Premium Poultry, ensuring the Company meets and exceeds the expectations of customers and consumers, leading to competitive profitability. Recruiting, retaining and developing associates is a key accountability.
This position will be based at Corporate HQ in Salisbury, MD - Relocation packages are available for eligible candidates.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Leads and manages at least one team member to meet Company and PMTs goals. Personnel development of associate(s) for performance and promotion within the company.
Manages assigned PMTs product lines to maximize growth and profitability, along with increasing the Company’s brand share. Works across departments, including but not limited to Supply, Demand, Customer Service, QA and Finance, to ensure results. Handles the Trade role for Pasture Raised Chicken.
Develops and manages pricing and product mix to upgrade returns for the Company. Stays abreast of market and competitive conditions, as well as, analyzes industry benchmarking data to maximize revenue.
Identifies distribution and product gaps in retail customers and provides Sales with the pricing and programs to secure business. Evaluates market information to meet merchandising standards. Detect, close, and monitor chain and store level distribution voids; survey retail price points; evaluate shelving and promotions.
Acts as primary contact for Marketing for the assigned PMT’s products. Assists in communication of Marketing goals and strategies. Works with Sales to develop tactics based on Marketing strategies and monitors implementation of those tactics to ensure proper execution resulting in increased retail brand sales.
Creates and presents content at Sales and Marketing staff meetings, annual sales meeting and broker management meetings. Development of clear and concise communication to accomplish the Company’s strategic goals.
Develop and review reports, leading the Trade and Sales Teams in achieving Company goals of profitability, brand share and competitiveness.
Minimum Education and Experience
REQUIRED: Bachelors Degree in Marketing or Business Administration plus 8-10 years of related work experience.
The ideal candidate must have:
Sales and Marketing experience.
Ability to develop strategy using category and financial information.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to travel to markets and facilities up to 10-25% of their time.
PREFERRED: MBA is a plus.
