Summary
Position dispatches shipments to fleet drivers and carriers using company software. Transportation Coordinator communicates and advocates daily with drivers, outside carriers, and shipping facilities and assists with maintaining driver safety compliance eligibility.
Hours of Work: Mon-Fri, first shift
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform daily dispatch function to maintain route compliance and maximize driver weekly shipments and miles.
Coordinate internal and external customer backhauls.
Communicate to internal and external customers to include answering drivers, carrier and plant daily calls and messaging.
Assist fleet supervisors with maintaining driver safety compliance eligibility; routing drivers for random DOT drug test, DOT physicals, and meetings as necessary.

Minimum Education
High school graduate or equivalent
Experience Requirements
2-3 years’ experience in transportation or related field. Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Strong systems aptitude and must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications with an emphasis on Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Understanding of Transportation Operations and Supply Chain Management.
Experience Preferred
College degree in a related field preferred.
Pay range
The salary range for this position is $23-$26 per hour, based on experience and qualifications with annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).
