Summary

Position dispatches shipments to fleet drivers and carriers using company software. Transportation Coordinator communicates and advocates daily with the driver and assists with maintaining driver safety compliance eligibility.

Hours of Work: Mon-Fri

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Perform daily dispatch function to maintain route compliance and maximize driver weekly shipments and miles.

Coordinate internal and external customer backhauls.

Communicate to internal and external customer to include answering driver daily calls and messaging.

Assist with maintaining driver safety compliance eligibility; scheduling random DOT drug test, DOT physicals, Electronic Logs, and equipment PMs.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education

High school graduate.

Experience Requirements

2-3 years’ experience in transportation or related field. Strong organizational and time management skills.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Strong systems aptitude and must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications with an emphasis on Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Understanding of Transportation Operations and Supply Chain Management.

Experience Preferred

College degree in a related field preferred. Experience may substitute for education.
