The primary purpose of this position is financial reporting and analysis, monthly closing and balance sheet reconciliations for a portion of the Turkey Live Operations Facilities. This includes monthly accounting for the breeder, feedmill, hatchery, and grow-out areas.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensures that the financial activity for the designated Live Production cost centers is accurately recorded monthly.

  • Responsible for adhering to generally accepted accounting principles for the breeder, feedmill, hatchery, and grow-out areas. Accurate accounting and balance sheet preparation required monthly.

  • Maintain accounting controls by performing annual capital asset and inventory audits for all Turkey Live Facilities

  • Provide timely, accurate and consistent weekly and monthly reporting for all the designated live production operations and grow out.

  • Provide system support across the Turkey Live operations for the MTech system pertaining to flock valuation and cost flows. Assist in the development of SOP’s along with ensuring SOP’s are being followed

Minimum Education

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.

Experience Requirements

1 - 3 years of Cost Accounting experience. Strong math, analytical and organizational skills with a good working knowledge of Excel, Word. Ability to learn specialized software quickly is a plus. Good communication skills, both oral and written.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings. May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. May need to access files, supplies and equipment. When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db. to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
