This position represents the sole logistics coordinator for Niman Ranch and will identify potential carriers, negotiate rates, prepare contracts for approval, schedule, route and coordinate the delivery of Niman products to the customer, perform analysis, develop cost forecasting and prepare periodic reports.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Identify potential carriers, negotiate rates, prepare contracts for approval.
Schedule, route and coordinate the delivery of Niman products to the customer and cold storage facilities.
Perform analysis, develop cost-forecasting and prepare periodic reporting on actual costs and timeliness of deliveries.
Identify and resolve transportation issues, including developing corrective action plans to achieve desirable results for on-time shipments.
Facilitate compliance with relevant laws, regulations and requirements.
Minimum Education & Experience
High School graduate.
Experience and knowledge in Transportation.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Strong systems aptitude.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications with emphasis in Outlook, Word and Excel.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
College degree in related field (Experience may substitute for education).
Outstanding organizational skills and ability to prioritize and reorganize workload in order to meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
Knowledge of industry, relevant laws, regulations and requirements
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize time sensitive situations in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and coordination abilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Can demonstrate attention to details and follow through.
