Summary
This position is responsible for the following duties:
To visually check and record machine temps. and humidity on all incubators and hatchers at regular intervals.
Contact maintenance of any problems. Unload and load egg trucks.
Mark on eggs and roll them out for egg setters.
Check chick readiness 12 hours before pull and take rectal temperatures.
Fog the hatchery to help keep bacteria and mold counts down.
This position has a target wage of $16.30 per hour.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Every 3 hrs. associate must visually check all hatchers and incubators for proper running temps. and humidity levels and record readings on the designated forms.
Also record hall temps, static pressure, and water temps.
Respond promptly to any alarms.
When a mechanical problem is found the associate must attempt to correct the problem or call a maintenance person immediately for assistance.
Unload egg trucks as they arrive.
Trucks will have up to 36 racks weighing 500 lbs. each that will have to be pushed a distance of 100 ft.
Reload truck with empty racks weighing 150 lbs. each.
Clean egg truck prior to reloading.
Mark on eggs and roll them out for the egg setters to the incubators that are being set that night.
Do chick readiness and rectal temperatures on the hatchers designated by management 12 hours before pull.
Fog the hatchery and record the time fogged for each room in the hatchery.
Any other job duties requested by management.
Minimum Education
- High school or equivalent
Experience Preferred
- Reading and writing skills preferred.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
Exposed to temperatures ranging from 60 to 105 degrees Fahrenheit and humidities up to 100%.
Exposed to chemicals, drugs and vaccines to be covered in MSDS training and hazardous communications.
Use personal protective equipment as required.
Ability to lift 4 lbs. to a height of 6 feet, to push 75 lbs. a distance of 75 feet and lift 20 - 25 lbs. to a height of 3 feet.
Must be able to work in a wet, damp, dusty (chick down) environment.
