This position will be responsible for performing quality control checks and maintaining the quality control program at the hatchery facility.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Directly responsible for gathering all hatchery quality control data. Such as Embryo temperatures, egg weights at set and transfer, chick weights, box counts, bacteria and mold plating, cull data, yield weights, and breakout.
Directly responsible for conducting egg breakouts.
Responsible for the maintenance and inventories of all equipment used to collect quality control data.
Will be part of the cull team during processing.
Will assist with cleaning and verifying cleanliness of hatchers on processing days.
Data entry and other clerical duties as needed. This includes but is not limited to putting data into various software programs, filing, and generating reports.
Complete all other duties as assigned.
Must be able to work a variable schedule consisting of early mornings and late nights which also include holidays.
High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Basic computer skills
Familiarization with Microsoft Excel and Outlook
Ability to read and write in English.
One year experience.
Reading and writing skills required.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
Exposed to temperatures ranging from 60 - 105 degrees; humidity up to 100%.
Ability to safely lift and move up to 35lbs as needed.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel repeatedly as needed.
Work in a wet, damp, dusty (chick down) environment.
Exposed to chemicals, drugs and vaccines to be covered in MSDS training and hazardous communications.
Must use personal protective equipment as required.
Must be able to travel throughout the hatcheries, facilities and operations.
